These are just a small sample of the hundreds of recipes for salad that I have accumulated over time from various sources. All these recipes are OVER 60 years old. They come from personal recipe collections (3" x 5" cards!!!), old magazine clippings, labels from products, and many other sources. I am putting them together in small e-books at a reasonable price so that you, the afficiando, can afford to get the recipes that grandma used to use.
I've started with salads but I will progress to soups, breads, meat, poultry, fish, cakes .... you name it. JUST LIKE GRANDMA USED TO MAKE!

RECIPE FOR FRUIT SALAD.

Beat sugar, eggs and butter together and pour boiling vinegar over it.
Mix thoroughly, put in sauce pan to thicken, but not boil.
When cold pour it over the mixed nuts, fruit and celery.
Just before serving stir in the whipped cream.

RECIPE FOR EGG SALAD.

Take hard boiled eggs, cut in half after removing the shell, pulverize the yolks, moisten with vinegar, adding a little salt, pepper, celery seed and mustard, mix well, place back into the whites, being careful not to break the whites. Good to serve with lettuce.

RECIPE FOR POTATO SALAD

Six cold boiled potatoes cut in small slices, put on a platter, make a dressing of : mix this into one-half cup of vinegar;
when well cooked together, add two well beaten eggs;
take off directly and stir two or three minutes, pour over cold, add onions, sliced fine.

RECIPE FOR SALAD DRESSING FOR SALMON

Mix these ingredients together to a smooth paste, add it to one-half pint of boiling vinegar and let it thicken.
This recipe calls for one can of salmon and one large bunch of lettuce.

RECIPE FOR SALAD DRESSING.

Into the yolks of two eggs, beat : Pour into this mixture one cup of cream heated to the boiling point; stir well and heat till it comes to a boil.
Heat one-half cup of vinegar and pour into mixture, letting all come to a boil.
Cool and beat into it the beaten whites of the two eggs.
If milk is used instead of the cream, use one teaspoon of corn starch.
